Yesterday we had or first practice since the game against VCU. Naturally, we were a little out of practice since we had a spring break in between the game and practice. Throws were a little off and drops were frequent. After a few drills, we started to play better and we seemed like a great team. I think we played better because of our game against VCU since now we know some strategy to at least be a challenge to teams like them (and it being the nicest weather in a while didn’t hurt our moral either. Our star play is still unable to play after the injury from the game, but he is a trooper and will try to get back on his broom as soon as he can. Another awesome thing is that we gained three new players: one, a chaser; another, a beater; and the third, a fellow keeper. Our team is growing and we finally had enough players for a full scrimmage sans seekers and snitch. Since we have enough for two teams, we will have plenty of subs when we play another game.
After practice, we discussed any clarifications on rules (btw, this is the real rule book we use, not Savannah. My bad. click here), making hoops so we can host games in the future, and developments in the team t-shirt. I’m looking forward to a tournament that our team is trying to enter in two weeks. I’ll have more info on that next week when I know more about it.
